  • Date: June 17

    3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

This session of the AFIRE Experimental Funders Group will dive into Distributed Peer Review (DPR) – a reciprocal model where applicants themselves participate in the review process.

Jessica Biddinger (American Heart Foundation), Svenja Vandertol (NWO), Tom Stafford/Stephen Pinfield (VWS) and Sampsa Kaataja (NordForsk) will join us to share insights from DPR use at their organisations.

We’ll then open up the discussion, drawing on the different experiences in the (virtual) room and our shared knowledge to consider some of the key questions about DPR. What type of funding call is DPR good for? How should we communicate about DPR with applicants? When should (and when shouldn’t) it be used?

The AFIRE Experimental Funders Group series provides a dedicated space for research funders to delve into current issues, share experimental approaches, and discuss the future of research and innovation (R&I) funding.
